I am honored to be speaking at the Gas And Welding Distributors Association Kansas City, MO Regional Meeting on Sept 30th!
A lot of people struggle with social selling because they are unsure about what they should be doing. LinkedIn can be a time-suck or a tremendously efficient prospecting tool, but it all boils down to how you use it. Here are 3 Dos and 3 Don’ts to keep yourself on track
I was honored to be the guest this week on the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast with host, John Jantsch. We talked about LinkedIn The Sandler Way and what goes wrong with social selling.
This Wednesday, I will be speaking to some amazing high school students and the Northland Caps program. I will be talking about using LinkedIn for Sales as well as finding a job.
This group is incredible, and if you would like to help out yourself, go to: NorthlandCaps.org!
I am honored to be speaking at the Liberty Chamber of Commerce Business Bites series tomorrow. I have really interesting topic on Generational Communication. We are going to talk about the 3 main generations in our workforce: Boomer, X, and Millennials, and how they interact together. Most importantly, we will cover the 5 tensions created […]
A lot of marketing experts have defaulted to suggesting that you should grow your network as large as possible, and they tell you to make sure you get over 500+ connections so that you look influential. This is a mistake.
To make the most of LinkedIn, you need to be a Go-Giver, not a Go-Getter. It has been scientifically proven over and over again that there is an actual Return-On-Investment to giving.
Many people are looking for the next LinkedIn hack to reach more prospects and make more sales, but consider for a moment that you don’t need a hack. What if LinkedIn spent millions of dollars designing a tool to do help you build relationships and build your business? Do you think it would make sense to try to hack or cheat the tool, usually based on some individuals suggestions that it works better? Why not instead, play it straight and use the tools LinkedIn has given you to the best of your ability, before you worry about gaming the system.
Kansas City was founded in the 1830’s as port where the Missouri River and Kansas River meet, known as West Port. Kansas City is split by the Missouri River and the state line between Kansas and Missouri. The Kansas City Metro Area includes major suburbs like Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs on the Missouri side, and Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe in Kansas. However, most locals are referring to Kansas City, MO when referencing KC.
A lot of hype is made about optimizing your LinkedIn profile to attract clients, but in my experience, there are really only three things that make a dramatic difference in your social selling. The rest of the tips are just gravy… here is the meat!
Kansas City has a long history in professional sports, which has included national championships in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, and Major League Soccer. The Chiefs won the AFL title in 1962 and in 1966 when they went on to lose Super Bowl I. They won the last AFL championship in 1969 and went on to win Super Bowl IV. The Royals became the first expansion team to reach the MLB playoffs in 1976 and to reach the World Series in 1980, and finally to win the World Series in 1985 against the cross-state rival St. Louis Cardinals. The Royals did not make the playoff again until last year, reaching the World Series via a Wild Card spot in 2014. Sporting Kansas City has won the MLS Cup twice, once as the KC Wizards in 2000 and again in 2013. They have also won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup twice in 2004 and 2012. Although, any of these teams have rarely been successful at the same time. This fall promises to be an exciting time in Kansas City Sports.
I was honored to be asked to speak and the Northland Coffee Connect this week. It is the Northland’s remote 1 Million Cups event. Northland Coffee Connect is a weekly educational program designed to engage, educate, and accelerate communities of entrepreneurs and small business owners.
You don’t have to be a LinkedIn wizard to grow your business through social selling. You can use your own network of business contacts, and your company’s network, to take a proactive, client-centered view of prospecting on LinkedIn. This workshop cuts through all the noise, tech-speak, and misconceptions about LinkedIn and social selling. Learn how to use LinkedIn to get more qualified referrals and have better conversations with your ideal clients in 5 easy to follow steps. Presented by Mike Montague, author of the new book by Sandler Training and LinkedIn.
I had another amazing time speaking to the Sales Professionals USA group last Friday. This amazing group of salespeople is the most supportive and positive networking group in Kansas City. I love the casual atmosphere, great breakfast, and intelligent discussion that goes on every Third Friday at the First Watch in Shawnee.
Learn why everyone hates salespeople and what to do about it. Most business owners and salespeople struggle with how to confidently talk about their business without turning people off, they wish there was a way to attract better and more clients without cold calling, interruptive advertising, or spamming people through email or social media. Mike Montague from Sandler Training will discuss an effective business development strategy to position yourself and your company as a trusted advisor and a value based sale, rather than just a salesperson slinging another price-based commodity. We will also cover how to hone in on your unique value proposition. You will learn how to stop wasting time and money on prospects who never buy, and how to start attractive more profitable clients that want and need your help.
We’ve all had great ideas that we never acted upon. We get caught up. Life happens. What might have been? What could still be? What if the next time you get a great idea you take action on it right away? What if you set a must complete by date for it? (I don’t like “deadlines.” Who wants to die?) Then work out what you have to do everyday in order to get it done by that date?
Summertime can be a difficult time for salespeople. Vacations, seasonal businesses, and other distractions can make it more challenging to get in touch with decision-makers. LinkedIn is a smart way to be more productive during these months. Of course, every great business deal requires a conversation. Using LinkedIn, you can make sure you have more […]
